KAMPALA – Reach a hand Uganda a youth-centric non-profit organisation together with Emmanuel Ikubese films and development partners have on Tuesday, September 17, launched “Kyaddala” a TV series at Hilton Gardens Hotel, in Kampala.

The 8-episode series is aimed at addressing the sexual health reproductive rights challenges faced by the youth in the country and beyond.

Speaking to the media at the press conference, Ms. Helen Patricia Amutuhaire, the Reach a Hand Uganda representative revealed that “Kyadadala” is one of the ways they chose to disseminate information about sexual reproductive health and rights to the youth in Uganda and all over the globe.

“Youth are very dynamic and their things keep on changing from time to time and since they are looking up to celebrities, this platform is one of the creative ways to pass on the message in a well-packaged manner so that we can achieve our desired goal,” she added.

Mr.Emmanuel Ikubuse, the Executive Producer who doubles as an actor said.

“It means a lot to us and one of the ways we are using to communicate this kind of message known to be boring is through this great TV series. I felt that using film as a tool for telling stories and after getting in touch with Reach a Hand  Uganda. We wanted stories that people will understand since most of them normally shun issues like rape, defilement among others have been overlooked.”

“You don’t need that experience. We are giving young people a platform to make decisions without falling victims like the way other people did. It is best done by film and since we are living in a  visual generation it was the best way. This collaboration brings Africans as a united family beyond the flaws,” he added.

Mr.Joe Kigozi, the Deputy Director NEXT Media Services said;

“We saw these young organizations about 8 years ago that is trying to solve the problems of young people and we have collaborated since. We appreciate local content and since 80 percent of our material is home-made. It is  Africa and Uganda playing a role through this really entertaining project to be shown to the public. It is not all about watching the series and swag but there is a strong message beyond.”

The premier will take place on September 27, after which the series with 8 episodes shall be aired on NBS TV  in October featuring notable characters such as  Martha Kay, Salvado, Mathew Nabwiso, Helena  Nabwiso, Anita Fabiola among others.
