KAMPALA: At about 1:00am on Tuesday morning, soft spoken singer Chris Evans Kaweesi was attacked as he returned home in Lungujja, Mengo, a Kampala suburb.
The singer’s manager Geoffrey Kayemba in an interview with PML Daily on Tuesday said people on a boda boda followed Evans for a distance.
Upon realising he was being followed, the singer drove into a nearby compound but as soon as he parked to find out why he was being followed, the assailants forced him out of his car, beat him several times with a hammer on the head, leaving him unconscious and went away with his car, a Toyota Fielder, registration number UAZ 399J

The manager further states that Chris Evans is recuperating with injuries at Mengo Hospital and will keep fans posted.
Chris Evans hasn’t been known to be in any feud with fellow artistes.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire said police are investigating the incident and had so far recovered the car abandoned in Bugolobi, Kampala.
