
KAMPALA, Uganda Old Mutual Life Assurance customers in Uganda can now pay their premiums instantly and securely through Airtel Money, the companies announced Wednesday. The partnership also allows customers to set up recurring payments directly from their Airtel Money wallets.
The integration, facilitated by the platform NxtPe, aims to simplify premium payments and eliminate the complexities of traditional bank standing orders, offering users greater convenience and control, according to a statement released at the launch event at Old Mutual’s head office.
Joshua Akena, Head of Operations at Old Mutual, said the collaboration puts convenience in the hands of their customers. “Whether you’re at home or on the go, you can pay your life insurance premiums with just a few taps,” Akena said. “More than that, the ability to set up automatic payments from your Airtel Money wallet gives customers peace of mind and full control.”
Airtel Money said the partnership aligns with its broader goal of digitizing the Ugandan economy and expanding financial inclusion, ensuring access to essential financial services for all Ugandans, regardless of location.
