KAMPALA, Uganda — Glovo Uganda celebrated its top-performing freelance riders and their families at a “Rider Family Day” event in Kampala.
The ceremony, held Dec. 20, recognized riders’ exceptional achievements, including delivering the highest number of eco-friendly green orders and earning the title of Best Partner Rider.
Glovo Uganda General Manager Ivy Maingi praised the riders and their families, saying the event was an opportunity to celebrate hardworking riders and acknowledge the role their families play in their achievements.
The event featured a financial literacy and entrepreneurship training session, facilitated by Stephen Kaganda from Lendass, which equipped riders and their families with essential skills to enhance their financial well-being and explore potential business opportunities.
Riders were awarded prizes in various categories, including:
Nuwagaba Henry, the highest delivered orders in the new rider app
Jalia Khalid, the highest orders delivered by a female rider
Tadeo Ntegeka, the highest number of green orders delivered by an electric motorbike
Kiguli Henry, the most loyal veteran rider
Kanyike Samuel, best partner rider
Bashir Ongalya, the highest delivered orders in Mukono
Jude Klein, highest delivered orders in Entebbe
Other recognized riders included Nakazzi Immaculate, Kukundakwe Onesmus, Kakembo Tonny, Odul Daniel, Kiguli Henry, Kanyike Samuel, Bashir Ongalya, Jude Klein, Ashiraf Muganga and Bwire Samuel.
Tadeo Ntegeka expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying working with Glovo has been a fulfilling journey due to the company’s support and his ability to contribute to sustainability with his electric motorbike.
