KAMPALA — MultiChoice Uganda, in partnership with Airtel Uganda has introduced internet data bundles ,that will provide DStv customers with a more affordable data plan to stream live TV and access DStv Catch Up via the DStv Now app to enjoy on-the-go.
The DStv tailored Bundles will enable DStv customers who have the DStv App access and stream live content anywhere at any time without using their normal surfing bundles effective today, 9th April 2021.
By downloading the app to your cellphone, or logging on via your desktop browser, you get to watch Live TV, see the full DStv TV Guide and enjoy DStv Catch Up content (via streaming or download) at no extra cost to your subscription.
The Live TV and DStv Catch Up content on DStv Now will be as per the package you are on. You can register up to four different devices for DStv Now on the same account. Getting set up is easy: you’ll need a Connect ID that you can create here or through the DStv Now app.
Ms. Joweria Nabakka Zziwa, Head Data, Devices and New product development at Airtel Uganda said the initiative seeks to drive high impact user experience and cater for both DStv and Airtel customer needs.
“Airtel Uganda continues to increase convenience and diversity by diligently innovating products that simplify communications on the Smartphone Network through strategic partnerships like this one. The DStv App is adding relevance to your smartphone, expanding its use from online streaming to more customized TV viewing” she said a joint press briefing in Kololo.
On his part, Colin Asiimwe, the Head of Marketing at MultiChoice Uganda the company is excited to yet again to unveil a thrilling partnership that will further improve customers’ viewing experiences, by enabling them to enjoy the DStv App, stream live TV, catch up on premium movies, series and sports anywhere at any time.
“MultiChoice remains committed to delivering the best video entertainment experience in Uganda by enhancing customers’ experiences and our partnership with Airtel Uganda is a step in the right direction to satisfy their needs and preferences.”
The DStv Smart Data Bundles will be accessible to Airtel subscribers who have and those who have not yet downloaded the App.
In addition, bundles will enable streaming at a daily rate of UGX.2,000 for 500MB, weekly rate of UGX. 10,000 for 3.5GB and monthly rate of UGX. 30,000 for 12GB of data.
The partnership between Airtel Uganda and MultiChoice Uganda comes in handy in fostering a successful technological revolution for customers in Uganda like elsewhere in Africa as they embrace the 4th industrial revolution characterized by the internet, advanced wireless technologies among others.
How to get DStv Now:
Download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store for your mobile device or tablet, or visit dstv.com/now.
Once you’re on DStv Now, click “Register” and then:
Click “Yes” to indicate that you’re a DStv customer
Enter your ID or passport number
You’ll now be sent a one-time pin to the mobile number associated with your DStv account
Use the one-time pin to complete your registration
Enter your first name and email address, then create your password
Login to DStv Now and enjoy!
MultiChoice has also made screen casting available through Chromecast on Android to enable customers with the relevant devices to cast DStv Now to their bigger television screens.
