KAMPALA —The grand ceremony to recognize the winners in the 2019 Digital Impact Awards Africa went down Friday evening at the Mestil Hotel in Kampala.

More than 100 projects had been nominated in the thirty-five categories.

The ceremony was taking place for the six time.

Themed ‘Include Everyone’, the competition saw corporate companies and government agencies judged based on social media presence, innovativeness, product usability among other digital feats.

According to officials, the awards are aimed at recognizing and rewarding individuals and organisations across Africa that are spearheading the use of digital tools to “not only enhance financial and digital inclusion but also lead to continental economic transformation.”
