KAMPALA– Uganda Airlines has on Friday, August 2, announced its promotional fares which will run for two months.
These fares are mainly for return tickets from East African countries and they are all indicated in dollars.
“We are excited to announce our Promotional fares which will run for two months”, the company posted on their social media platforms.
According to Uganda Airlines, the fares are as follows; Nairobi Return USD 278, Juba Return USD 225, Mogadishu Return USD 590 and Dar es alaam Return is USD 286.
Bujumbura Return ticket will cost travellers USD 292, Mombasa Return ticket USD 325 well as Kilimanjaro Return is USD 311.
However, the company said all the fares above include taxes. It added that one can make payments in Ugandan Shillings instead of USD.
Recently, the Minister for Works and Transport, Hon Monica Azuba revealed that Uganda Airlines was in the process of obtaining permission to fly to all East African destinations in line with Civil Aviation regulations.
She said that her ministry had written to the destination countries requesting for acceptance of the designation of Uganda Airlines to operate on the various routes.
Minister Azuba added saying that before operating authorizations are granted by destination countries, they study the Bilateral Air Services Agreements and Air Operating Certificate (AOC) to assess if Uganda Airlines meets the requirements for operating on various routes.
She said the launch routes will be Nairobi, Dar Es Salam and Mogadishu whereas the other destinations to be added after the introductory phase in August are Kilimanjaro, Juba and Mombasa.
“Other destinations after the delivery of the next two CRJ in September and conclusion of the permissions will be Khartoum, Kinshasa, Kigali, Lubumbashi, Harare, Lusaka, Addis Ababa, Hargeisa, Zanzibar and Johannesburg,” she said.
