Uganda’s has an abundant stock of Uranium that can light the African continent for over 100 years.
This was revealed by Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) deputy coordinator, Lt Gen Charles Angina who was speaking at meeting for OWC coordinators in Lira town on Tuesday.
Gen Angina was reacting to accusations that the OWC programme was not yielding results.
He emphasised Uganda is endowed with enough minerals to “propel it out of poverty forever”.
“If Uranium alone can change this country and make it wealthy, why do we then doubt that wealth is not coming? We have a lot of minerals and our Uranium deposits can light the continent for hundred years because it is in abundance,” Gen Angina said.
Calling for a total change in mindset in Ugandans, Gen Angina cited Tin, Iron and oil besides Uranium among the minerals the country possess at the moment.
“Wealth is coming for you, there is no way we are going to fail and if you don’t want wealth, begin preparing to leave this country because if you don’t open your mind and change your mindset, wealth is going to overtake you and leave you behind,” he said.
