Vipers SC will hope to maintain their unbeaten start to the Uganda Premier League when they travel away to SC Villa on Tuesday afternoon.
The Venoms are still one of only two sides yet to taste defeat. The other being KCCA FC.
In their first three games, the Venoms have defeated Bright Stars and Tooro United and also drawn with Mbarara City.
Coming off a draw in their last fixtures, the Venoms will be on the hunt for three points in Namboole.
“We have put the past game behind us and worked on the areas that were wanting, said Vipers SC head coach Edward Golola ahead of the game.
“We are set for the clash on Wednesday and the boys are aware and keen to get good results.”
However, it will not be easy for the Venoms as they come up against a side that sat at t the top of the standings before a kick of the ball on match-day six.
After losing their opening game of the season, the Jogoos have been on a wonderful run of results as they have won three of their last four games whilst drawing the other.
Their last game saw Edward Kaziba’s side edge eternal rivals Express FC 1-0 at Wankulukuku and will be hoping that momentum can take them over the Vipers hurdle.
Vipers SC first choice goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora is expected to start in goal having recovered from a fever that saw him miss the 2-2 draw with Mbarara City. Similarly Innocent Wafula is also back and will be available for selection against the Jogoos. Geofrey Wasswa is fully fit to make his first appearance in nine months after undergoing a knee surgery. Farouk Musisi continues to serve his two match ban but should be available for the next game against Proline FC. Aziz Kayondo returns to left back. Karim Watambara and Frank Tumwesigye maybe selected to feature having looked impressive in training. Ibrahim Tembo returns from a compassionate leave and a decision on whether he will play will be made by the technical team.
For SC Villa, Kiggundu Moses will miss the game due to yellow card accumulation. Gavin Kizito returns from CECAFA U20. The rest of the squad if fully fit and expected to feature.
This is the 21st meeting between the two sides since November 2010.
In the previous 20 match-ups, the Venoms have won 10, Villa three with the other 7 all ending in draws.
Last season, this fixture registered two away victories including a 2-1 win for Vipers in the reverse fixture.
Villa has defeated Vipers once at home in any of their last 9 meetings (D3 L5). That victory came in a 1-0 result back in May 2017.
Villa enter into the game having lost just one of their opening five games (W3 D1).
