Another company joins corporate games bandwagon as they head into outing 7

NAMBOOLE – Mineral water company, Uzima is the latest company to join the Corporate League.

Uzima is understood to have signed a one-year deal with the games that have in the past attracted giants like Nex Media and Uganda Broadcasting Corporation.

Uzima were represented by their Human Resource Manager, Cpt. Titus Muhoozi who noted that the main reason they are joining Corporate Games is to attain more mileage.

“The main reason as to why we are joining the games is that we think they will enable us get more mileage. Said Muhoozi.

“The core is that we are going to attain promotion as we offer them 25 curtons of water per outing for a period of 12 months.”

On Sunday, the games entered into their 7th outing which was held at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

The games which are held every first Sunday of the month kicked off with the mandatory Aerobics before the competition started.

In football, Uganda Baati were the biggest winners of the day as they thumped Next Media 7-0.

Uganda Baati defeated Next Media 7-0 on Sunday.

However, they (Uganda Baati) went on to lose their second and day’s last fixture 0-1 to SCD Darling.

EFC lost both of their games on Sunday, losing 0-4 to UIRI before they were humiliated 0-5 by Ministry of Finance.

In some of the other results, Red Paper lost 0-3 to Mandela National Stadium, Mengo Hospital beat ORYX Energies 4-0 while Royal van Zanteen overcame Joint Medical Stores 1-0.

On the same day, the knock-out stages of this year’s Basketball were held;

In the quarters, Ministry of Finance, UMC Victoria Hospital, Ministry of Science and Technology and Royal Van Zanteen were all victorious in their respective fixtures.

For the semis, UMU defeated Ministry of Finance 11-8 while Ministry of Science and technology were 12-6 winners over Royal Van Zateen.

In the end, UMC ran out victorious thanks to a 23-17 win Ministry of Science and technology in the final’s game.

With several disciplines now sorted, it was announced that their will be a dinner held on September 6th 2019, where the winners of the different competitions will be awarded.

The next outing of the Corporate games will take place on September 6th.
