Bar Okoro Stadium, Zombo

ZOMBO – It is such a pity that one of the most fiercely contested encounters in the country, will be played with one team already relegated.
When Paidha host Onduparaka on Wednesday, the Black Angels will already be thinking about life back in the Big League as they became the first team to be relegated from the top tier this season, close to a fortnight ago.
Paidha have had a tough first season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, one which is compounded by the fact that they have used up to four managers already.
Despite the change in management on a frequent basis, their fortunes have not changed, spending most of their time rooted at the foot of the table.
That however, has not been the case with their arch-rivals Onduparaka who have performed just like they did in their first two season.
The Caterpillars who also made two managerial changes this season have once again impressed on several occasions and have not been any closer to the drop than they have been, to the top four.
Currently occupying 7th, Onduparaka are just 5 points behind Tooro United who sit in 4th.
However, derbies are derbies and form is thrown out of the window once the game starts.
Despite Paidha’s relegation and Onduparaka’s assured performances, they game which promises to pull a huge crowd, will surely be hotly contested for the entire 90 minutes and if the hosts can pull off a victory, they at least will have a massive result to go down with.
This will be only the second West Nile derby to be contested in the top tier.
In the first, Onduparaka had to come from a goal down to defeat Paidha 2-1 at the Green Light Stadium back in December.
Going into Wednesday’s game, Paidha have lost all of their last 7 League games, conceding 17 goals in the process whilst scoring only three.
At home, the Zombo based side have won only one of their last 7 League fixtures (D4 L2).
For Onduparaka, they head into the game having lost only three of their last 9 League games (W4 D2).
However, away from home, the Caterpillers have been in wanting form that has seen them win only one of their last 8 games (D1 L6). The only victory in that period came in a 2-1 win away to Mbarara City on February 20th.
