Uganda Cranes gets seventh sponsor

The Uganda national team, the cranes have on Thursday received a big financial boost.

Betlion, an online Mobile betting company has signed a five year contract with the team and thus becoming the seventh partner for Uganda cranes joining Airtel, National insurance Cooperation ,Nile breweries, Bidco, Rwenzori and Eco bank.

The chairman Marketing committee at FIFA house Rogers Byamukama said that this is a big deal for Uganda cranes.

“This is one of the biggest deals for Uganda cranes and its one of the achievements showing that Uganda football is rapidly growing, said Byamukama.

“We call upon other sponsors to come on board so as we move this brand forward.”

Betlion  will be contributing revenue to the team from the weekly incomes that have been put aside towards funding the development of football levels in the country.

In addition, Betlion will also provide coaching services to all football levels In the country.

The CEO for Betlion Oliver Bates said the partnership is going to support the development of football in Uganda and aiming for the world cup in 2022.

“This partnership is meant to supporting the ongoing development of Football in Uganda and the Cranes in the aim of reaching the 2022 World Cup, commented Oliver Bates.

By partnering with the Cranes, we have partnered with a well run organization that has a clear vision for the future, we look forward to supporting that vision.”

This comes just days after a squad of 23 players was summoned by the Cranes head coach Sebastian Desabre and his technical team, for a training camp slated for May 27th-3rd June, 2018.

The Cranes will play take part in a mini three nations’ tournament that will be used as preparation for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Tanzania and Lesotho.
