FOOTBALL–As expected, Uganda Cranes head coach Moses Basena rings changes in Cranes starting eleven as the team prepares for a showdown against Ghana.

Captain and number one goalkeeper Denis Onyango retains both his arm ban and starting slot in goal with both Ismail Watenga and Benjamin Ochan on bench.

With the absence of Murushid Jjuuko due to suspension, versatile Hassan Wasswa slotes into centre back to partner Isaac Isinde as Proline’s Savio Kubugo makes the bench for the first time since 2014 in a World Cup qualifier.

Vipers captain Nicholas Wadada retains his place at right back as well as Godfrey Walusimbi who starts ahead of Lusaka Dynamos left back Joseph Ochaya.

Denis Iguma who usually plays at right back starts in the holding role alongside Tony Mawejje with seasoned starter Khalid Aucho also out due to accumulation of two yellow cards.

Kizito Luwaga will play behind striker Derrick Nsibambi who is yet to get off the mark in the World Cup qualifiers with Emmanuel Okwi and Farouk Miya playing on either side of him.

Uganda will be hoping they can attain maximum points to stay in arms distance with Egypt who are expected to trounce Congo Brazzaville in Alexandria tomorrow evening.

Uganda is two points behind group leaders Egypt while Ghana seat in third on five points, in third position after four rounds played.
