South Sudan National Team The Bright Stars are expected to arrive in Kampala tomorrow a head of their return leg CHAN Qualifier on Saturday at Star times Stadium Lugogo. A 25-man contingent consisting of 18 players and seven officials are set to depart from Juba International Airport on Thursday morning, and check in at Entebbe International Airport in the evening.
The Bright Stars held Uganda Cranes to a goalless draw in the first leg at their own Juba Stadium last Saturday. The highlight of the drab affair in Juba, however, was Cranes Captain Geofrrey Sserunkuma shockingly missing a penalty to deny his side draw first blood in the two-legged contest.
Yet, The South Sudanesse, ranked 143th by FIFA, could have taken encouragement in the manner they kept their counterparts at bay, and will be optimistic to frustrate highly fancied cranes to progress to the next round.The winner on aggregate will thereafter play the victor between Tanzania and Rwanda to secure a berth to the 2018 CHAN finals to be held in Kenya.
Tanzanian referees appointed match officials
Centre referee Elly Ally Sassi assisted by compatriots Josephat Deu Bulali and John Longino Kanyenye as second assistants from Tanzania will officiate proceedings when Uganda Cranes play host to South Sudan on Saturday.
Israel Omusingi Njuwa Mujuni , also from Tanzania will be the fourth official.
