KAMPALA – Police in Ntinda have Tuesday, April 16 arrested suspected con woman and man at DTB bank Ntinda branch.

The suspects have been identified as Ms. Akello Mary a resident of Entebbe and Mr. David Gasumba a resident of Makindye.

According to police, the duo approached a young man whose boss had sent to bank two million (2000,000) shillings and tried to con him that they have dollars and would want to exchange it for Ugandan currency. They convinced the boy that he would get profit.

It is said that they took the victim out of the bank, headed him to a nearby restaurant where the police found and arrested them after being tipped.

Police say on the arrest, the suspects were found with well-cut pieces of papers that looked like US dollars.

“We went to the restaurant and arrested the duo. On searching them we found the suspects with papers that were cut nicely into pieces to depict the size of a dollar. It was tied, one dollar was put on either side,” police said in a statement.

These are currently being detained at Ntinda Police station pending court.
