KABALE – President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned five roads that were constructed in Kabale Municipality with funding from the World Bank.

The Construction of 3-kilometer roads commenced in 2017 at a tune of 13.5 billion shillings.

The Constructed roads are Kigongi, Nyerere road, Nyerere Avenue, Nkunda, Keita, Bankline roads.

While commissioning the roads on Wednesday, July  31, at Central Division offices in Kabale Municipality, President Yoweri Museveni urged residents in the municipality to properly utilize the roads for development and business.

‘The government together with the world bank have invested in tarmacking these roads and making them passable, its, therefore, your role to engage in activities that will boost your household incomes other than waiting for the government to invest in you,”  President Museveni advised.

The head of the state who is transversing the country preaching the gospel of wealth creation also reminded Ugandans to first seek the kingdom of God, if they are to transform their families and the country at large.

“However we are preaching development to our people, but I want to remind you that God is above all. If you have God’s guidance in you, all will be easy to access and fulfill” Museveni added.

The Kabale Municipality Mayor Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha commended the government for the USMID Project saying that it has helped to improve the road network in the municipality.

Byamugisha also asked the government to increase funding to the municipality for physical planning, garbage management, street lighting, drainage and animal slaughtering as it prepares for city status.
