KABALE -The Executive Director of Kick Corruption out of Uganda Robert Kakuru Byamugisha has warned members of civil society organizations against engaging in partisan politics while performing their duties.

Mr Byamugisha made the call on Thursday, July 11, 2019, while speaking during an event about Regional Civic Agency learning Fellowships held that was held at Kirigime Guesthouse in Kabale Municipality.

The fellowship that was organized by KICK Corruption out of Uganda in partnership with Uganda National NGO Forum with support from USAID was aimed at contributing towards improved collaboration and shared learning amongst civil society organizations engaged in electoral and political processes in the regions across the country.

He said that the role of members of civil society organizations is to sensitize voters on how to select good leaders but if you become partisan, you will end up segregating, dividing and misleading voters.

Speaking during the fellowship, the Forum for Democratic Change –FDC Deputy National Secretary General in Charge of Policy and Research Dr. Joseph Tindyebwa said that the government should partner with civil society organizations (CSOs)to sensitize the voters about the voting rights and the reasons why they should participate in the election process if they are to choose capable leaders in the forth-coming 2021 elections.
