KAMPALA – The International University of East Africa (IUEA), will at the weekend throw open her doors to the public – giving them a peek at of some of the interesting university experience – and some rather secretive ones too!
The University says the weekend “Open Day” is part of an educational awareness initiative for the public to bear witness to the University’s unique facilities, resources, and services and find out for themselves, the numerous educational opportunities offered at the campus.
The blend of activities on Saturday June 15 will commence with an official campus tours where guests will get to see the university sports complex, high tech engineering laboratories, architecture studios and innovation center.
Mr. Cuthbert Atwongyeire, the head of public relations at the University says that during the whole event, the public will get an opportune moment to meet the lecturers, professors, and students.
This, according to Mr. Atwongyeire gives them an opportunity to get first-hand information from the university staff.
“Its aim is to showcase to those people who are interested in the University but have never had an opportunity to experience our unique campus,” he noted.
He said students will also be on hand to showcase their class projects which range from entrepreneurial projects, science and innovation among others.
The public can also get a first-hand view of the cutting-edge scientific research undertaken by the University researchers and the world-class learning environment at the IUEA.
IUEA is a private University licensed by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), and draws Students from the rest of the world.
It boasts of multicultural and international environment consists of a student body and staff who bring on board various experience and dynamisms in their work.
