MUKONO – Police in Mukono is stranded with three mute children.

One of the children, Fibi about 10 to 13 years, is able to write her name. She was referred to Mukono Police Station by Kamuli Police after boarding a wrong vehicle to take her back home.

Fibi was taken to Mukono on January 15, 2019. Fibi got lost when she was coming from a function in Seeta. She claims she got into a taxi and only realized that she was in Kamuli.

Another child, able to write his name too, is Sula Sserunkuma, 14 years. He says that he is in primary three at St Mark Bwanda. He was picked by a good samaritan in Seeta who found him moving and when he tried talking to him, the boy could not answer. He was later taken to Mukono Police Station March 1.

The third one is a girl and has not been identified because she can not communicate in any way. She was taken to Mukono from Namanve Police Station. She looks to be between 10 and12 years.

The Assistant Inspector of Police from Child and Family Protection Unit Stella Esaete has called on the public to help to trace for these children’s parents and or families.

Ms. Esaete said that if anybody is able to identify any of these children, they should contact Mukono Police on 0714662048 or 0755592645.
