HAPPENING NOW: Kateregga takes huge early lead in Makerere guild polls

Police interfered at School of liberal and performing arts after cases of ballot stuffing were raised around midday.

MAKERERE – Julius Kateregga has taken a huge early lead as counting of votes in the hotly contested Makerere University guild elections continues.

Information from the tally centre at Makerere indicates that from the 10 polling stations so far counted, Mr. Kateregga is leading with a huge margin and followed by Joshua Mukisa. Over 20 polling stations are yet to go and results are expected to be announced later tonight.
