The Uganda Police Force has with immediate effect transferred senior police officers and appointed others.
A letter signed by the Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, names 53 police officers, notable among whom are police publicists Polly Namaye and Fred Enanga, embattled Kampala Metropolitan South Police Commander Siraj Bakaleke, AIGP Ahmed Wafuba and the maverick Kampala Traffic boss Norman Musinga has been returned after completing a course.
Several of the police officers named in the list have been un-deployed for a long time. A source in police last week intimated to PML Daily that following the drama surrounding the arrest and trial of former Buyende District Police Commander, Mohammad Kirumira, officers, who were hitherto un-deployed, were summoned and promised deployment.
Many of these officers had complained of being idle. The list, which PML Daily has in its possession indicates that more transfers and appointments are expected in the coming days.
