Police have so far arrested one person in connection to the beating of singer Moses Ssekibogo alias Mowzey Radio.
Talking to PML Daily this morning, the ailing musician’s manager, Godfrey ‘Chagga’, said police have arrested George Egesa, the owner of the bar from where Radio was beaten.
Speaking about what transpired on the fateful day, Chagga said it all began at 9pm on Monday when Radio was having fun at the popular bar.
“Between 9pm and 9:30pm on Monday night, Moses was subjected to a very serious and unprovoked assault by an employee or associate of Egesa. There had been an exchange of words, and Moses was exiting the bar to return to Kampala when the yet to be identified assailant viciously pounced on him. This resulted in a severe brain injury that required urgent medical attention,” Chagga said.
He said Radio was rushed to Emmanuel Clinic, Entebbe Road, then transferred by ambulance to Nsambya Hospital and finally to Case Hospital, Buganda Road, where he underwent emergency brain surgery.
The operation took place between 2:30am and 5:30am on January 23, 2018.
“The full extent of Moses injuries is not yet clear. Contrary to gossip, he is alive and in a stable, comfortable condition within the Intensive Care Unit. Our legal advisors can confirm that they will be pursuing charges of attempted murder against the accused,” Chagga said.
