KAMPALA – The organisers of the highly anticipated Royal Ascot Goat Races have pledged to make every moment count with fun-packed activities, surprise acts/features and so much more.

The revelation was made during the official launch of the event at an exciting function held at the lavish Speke Apartments on Wampewo Avenue, Kampala on Friday evening.

Halted for over six years, the Royal Ascot Goat Race was furnished with glamour, fashion and pomp attracting the A-listers, socialites and other “party animals” to the shores of Lake Victoria at the Speke Resort Munyonyo.

The organisers of the comeback event led by Sheena Ruparelia -daughter to business mogul, Sudhir Ruparelia – revealed on Friday that unlike the prior Ascot Goat races, this edition will be graced by fun-filled activities such as the Silent Disco, Chill-Out Lounges – for revellers to mingle, and so much more.

The comeback 2018 Royal Ascot Goat Race has attracted numerous partners like Tusker Malt – a Uganda Breweries Ltd product – as the main sponsor, along side other partners – Silk Events, Sanyu FM and most notably, Kampala Executive Aviation.

Kampala Executive Aviation announced a special offer to the revellers that added a new twist to the Royal Ascot Goat Race slated for August 25, 2018.

“We will offer aviation services to the stylish and executive revellers with chartered helicopter for those that wish to arrive at the venue in style and enjoy the cool breeze at the resort,” said Martin Startin, an official at Kampala Executive Aviation.

Ms Naiya Ruparelia, one of the lead organisers, disclosed that proceeds from this Edition will go to charity and in Particular to the Toto’s Tag Rugby and Outreach Program to enable children learn the Sport.

”The edition is indeed special as the focus and proceeds will seek to support and uplift the Toto’s Tag Rugby and Outreach Program that trains and mentors over 250 children to learn the sport.  The programme has been going on over weekends at Kyadondo Rugby Club,” said Ms Naiya, wife to Rajiv Ruparelia.

In other news, renowned musician singer Bebe Cool broke the seal to this cause and bought a goat at Shs1million  which he named “A-Pass” after the Tuliku bigere hit maker, A-Pass, a fellow artist in the susic Industry.

A personality – that preferred to remain annonymous- identifying himself as JayJay, followed suit buying a goat at Shs1.3m as Silk Events boss, Elvis Ssekyanzi crowned the night by acquiring one at Shs2.3million.

The Royal Ascot Goat Race was sculpted after the Royal Ascot Horse races in England.

Besides the race of the cloven hooved creatures, the person with the most elaborate hat is awarded alongside the best dressed man and woman.
