Jubilee Holdings Limited (JHL) has appointed Dr. Julius Kipng’etich as its Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1 January 2018.

Jubilee Holdings is the parent company of thirteen companies (eight of which are Insurance Companies) and his new role will have him lead the regional operations of Jubilee Insurance in the five countries it operates in – Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Mauritius.

In addition, Jubilee Holdings has several associate companies like PDM Holdings Ltd, IPS Cable Systems Ltd, Farmers Choice Holdings Ltd, IPS Power Investments Ltd and Bujagali Holdings Power Company.

Jubilee Holdings is also a significant shareholder in IPS Kenya, DTB Kenya, Allpack Industries Ltd among others.

Kipng’etich is the immediate former CEO of Uchumi Supermarkets Ltd and he brings to the group extensive knowledge and experience in strategy and management.

He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Equity Group Holdings Limited where he spearheaded regional growth, new product development and the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) – Equitel development.

Dr. Kipng’etich had an illustrious career as the Director and CEO of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) where he has been credited for a complete turnaround of the organisation.

It was during his tenure that KWS recorded tremendous growth and was listed as one of the top five most respected parastatals in EastAfrica.

“I am delighted to welcome Dr. Julius Kipng’etich to Jubilee Holdings. He brings on board an outstanding track record of business process reengineering, strategic management and a deep understanding of the regional market.

He is passionate and committed to all that he does and I am very confident that through his leadership, we will continue to deliver enhanced value to all our stakeholders,” said Jubilee Holdings Chairman, Nizar Juma.

Kipng’etich holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Commerce Degree (Accounting Option) from the University of Nairobi.

“It is a great honor for me to be joining Jubilee Holdings. The group has been in existence for 80 years, has a strong regional presence, excellent products, and a very innovative and talented workforce, all which are a catalyst for our continued success going forward.

I am excited about my new role, the prospects it brings and I look forward to contributing positively to the changing landscape in the insurance industry across the region,”  Kipng’etich said.
